Needless to say my husband and I are very excited, but I'm a

worrier. I saw my OB/GYN and my bariatric surgeon in the last couple

weeks. Both have put emphasis on getting in lots of protein. I will

be seeing a dietician this week at the request of my OB.

I'm looking for any advice you can give. I believe my OB will keep

close tabs on my bloodwork. I had a huge workup already and all

numbers were good.

Did anyone continue to lose weight during pregnancy? My OB does not

want me to lose alot but try to maintain my weight. My Bariatric doc

said that I am eating for the baby and not to lose weight. I'm

afraid my body will do it anyway. Fortunately I do not dump and I

make wise food choices which means I'm getting and keeping nutrients

in my body. Thus far, knock on wood, I have not had any morning

sickness.

I just want a very healthy baby.

Thank you for your responses!

Congratulations, I am behind you by about 5 weeks. I go to see my OB doc next

week. My surgeon told me that I would probably gain very little during the

pregnancy. He also told me that postpartum is when women are at risk of gaining

weight. He told me to try to add about 300 calories per day (which is what the

nutritionist also told me). They said 1400-1500 calories a day would be good. I

will try to get more than that if I can (cause that is what I was trying to get

in before getting pregnant...and I was losing weight every week).

Good luck with your adventure. I look forward to hearing more from you.
