Guest guest
Hi all, I went today to buy my baby her first pair of shoes. She is 11 months. her RCF is 1 1/2 size and the normal left foot is 2. I went to stride rite. i found out sandals and shoes. So i am really confused what should i get her. Sandals or shoes. Also I need to know do they have to be from stride rite or can i get any other kind or there are specific characteristics for thier shoes. Does anyone had experience with that. i am scared to buy her wrong shoes/sandals that may affect her. thanks 5/1/
Guest guest
Myself, I don't think clubfoot has a lot to do with shoes, typically. Use more common sense, that's all. Fancy little dress up shoes are built to be cute, not functional, so limit their wear to a couple hours of church or a party, etc., where she won't do a lot of walking/running. Otherwise, just a good comfy fitting pair of *everyday* shoes, or sandals. Lean more towards comfort than fashion. And as with any child with any new pair of shoes, don't turn them loose for an entire day in a new pair of shoes - the materials need time to break-in. Any new pair of shoes is liable to shred a person's foot their first day out in them if you over-wear them that first day. I just buy for comfort and fit on my kids, at Wal-mart. jmtcw. ee, mother of two bcf boys: - NON Ponseti Method Club Foot Disaster Everett - Dr. Ponseti Success Story ----- Original Message -----
Guest guest
I use soft sole shoes like robeez and shooshoos so I'm not much help. I guess I always think that barefoot is best at this point so soft sole shoes are as close as I can get. Guest guest
everyone else, Check out the brand See Kai Run when your little one needs more than the Robeez. They have super flexible soles, are very lightweight and super cute. Jonah wears the KaiKai style and asks for them by name. http://www.seekairun.com Naomi The Family Naomi Hannah(02/21/01) Jonah(06/20/03, bilateral clubfoot, FAB 14/7) chris@...> wrote: I use soft sole shoes like robeez and shooshoos so I'm not much help. Guest guest
. Check out www.preschoolians.com. Even if you don't buy their shoes, they have a bunch of great information on their website on why barefoot is best, but when it is not practical, a very thin soft sole is best for beginner walkers. I am buying their shoes as soon as I get their measuring tool in the mail. Shook Retail Operations Manager/Baking Instructor Vie de France Yamazaki, Inc. 2070 Chain Bridge Rd.
