Laurie, from your response, brisk reflexes are not normal??

I have always felt that if the dr examined several times, exerting

fatigue in the muscles they would get a different result. When I

had a " good " neuroligist I would actually be so tired, hurt and just

not feel well the next day from his exam.

Family dr says:Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder is an autoimmune

process with symptoms of Scleroderma, Myositis, Systemic Lupus

Erythematosus, Rheumatoid Arthritis and/or other autoimmune

diseases. It is a description of a group of symptoms occurring

together. This is different from a diagnosis that describes the

underlying process. My ANA is positive and sed rate is sometimes

high, WBC is always high. From reading postings though I realize

that some people also have this with mito. *my mom has similar

symptoms but ana is normal.

I can understand where the family dr is coming from, especially

since she is not familiar with mito, but I still have to wonder.

I look forward to what Dr. Vockley has to say. It will be sooo nice

to actually see someone who understands and specializes in mito. It

will really put me at ease with whatever diagnoses he says.

Thanks again for the responses and the reassurance that ONE fiber is

not necessarily the whole muscle and also the possiblity that it can

be reversed.

All of the responses and shared experiences have helped in gathering

information and understanding!!!
