Guest guest
My never vac'd 6 yr. old autistic child w/3 open heart surgeries, and pace maker implanted received all kinds of meds while hospitalized, and probably some with thimersol. His problems started immediately after coming home, couldn't nurse due to the heart problem, allergic to milk and soy, projectile vomiting, etc. My attitude towards the medical profession in general is not very good. He didn't start gaining weight until I came across food enzymes and acidophilus when he was 6 months old. He HAD been under the care of a stomach specialist for those 6 months and didn't gain a single ounce. Of course the doc took credit, that Tagmet and Mylanta finally kicked in, haha. Oops, meandering off topic stuff. Cheryl in Memphis
Guest guest
I think it's important for those whose children had heart surgery to really look at the timing of surgery, vaccinations and the onset of food allergies, autistic behaviors. In our case, we had signs of autism preceeding surgery including sensitivity to sounds, unconsolable crying, not being cuddly, but it was just after his 12 month vaccinations that he fell off his growth curve, his food allergies worsened and he stopped responding to sounds. Many times the vaccination schedule is altered for these kids due to timing of surgery, etc and it's possible for more vaccinations to be given following surgeries for " catchup " . I think it is very possible that these kids have " extra " exposure due to hospitalization, then come home and get more exposure from the flu shots or other vaccinations. In our case that's what happened. Just some thoughts. I would like to email privately if anyone is interested in this subject since it is OT. ) Dawn / > My never vac'd 6 yr. old autistic child w/3 open heart surgeries, and pace > maker implanted received all kinds of meds while hospitalized, and probably > some with thimersol.
