Has anyone seen this happen before. My son does have tubes in his ears, and

has been ear infection free for 14 months. However, the last week or so he

has had a cold. On sunday he was clutching his left cheek and crying, " Oh

my cheek, it hurts...! " Anyway, I asked him to show me where and he pointed

to the area below his ear, behind his jaw bone. This crying and screaming

went on for over an hour, and I finally took him to the immediate care

facility. The doctor checked for strep (therapist had it), and then checked

the ears. The right ear was clear, but the left was packed full of wax. We

held him down, and the doc cleaned the wax out. He said the ear looked

fine. He told me to give him pain reliever, and see how feels the next day,

and if he's still crying, take him to his Ped. Well, we stopped at the

store, and he was crying and whining and clutching his jaw. He ate some

Nurds on the way home, and didn't complain for about 40 minutes. I decided

to wait and see on the pain reliever. Well, he never complained again, and

about an hour after the visit he announced that " water was pouring from his

ear " . Sure as heck, there was a watery discharge leeking from the ear that

had been cleaned. It's still leaking today! He hasn't complained too much,

just occasionally says it bothers him. Do you think the cleaning of the

wax, released a build up of fluid? I've never seen anything like this

before, and I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not. By the way, the

tubes are still in place.
