Guest guest
Hello, I really need all of your expertise on this one. I'm going corn-free - feel as though I've gotta try it, but also realize that it must be the hardest food to go off of because it is in almost everything. You know, when my daughter was 1 1/2 years old we had just moved here from England. The only change in her diet was corn on the cob. I kept taking her to the doc for so called " diaper rash " that was so bad + her behaviors were getting worse. I asked them to do allergy testing and had to fight to get them to do it. They did that ole Rast test and corn came up negative, milk was positive along with wheat, cats and a few other things. You know now if I give her a cereal made with corn like Corn Pops, French Toast Crunch, I swear after a couple minutes she begins all this " verbal stim " . I hate it. I keep telling my husband that I'd rather " Tube Feed " her for the rest of her life than here all this stim. I also remember once when she was really sick (Flu), she just had a couple crackers and soda - For days this child was behavior free. I swore that it wasn't because she was sick, but because of her limited diet. Sorry to ramble on. Please, for those of you who are doing it, all your pointers will do. Have a very special one-year old birthday party to attend this Saturday and then I want to begin on Sunday. My daughter eats eggs in the morning with rice toast and of course " Fleishman's no salt margarine (corn). Lunch is a sandwich w/smucker's grape jelly (corn), fruit & gatorade. Dinner I don't think will be a problem, but haven't looked into many ingredients that I usually cook with yet for corn. I make many things from scratch, but still rely on the GFCF list for Prego Traditional Spagetti sauce, hot dogs, etc.. for quick meals because our life is so hectic. I've got a " work-a-haulic hubby in the military who also goes to school full-time and doing an internship, we've got Baseball, Challengeball, Horseback Riding, KIDZ+ music & Dance and that doesn't include anything that I do (which is not much considering there is no time left). Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Guest guest
Hi , I'm so far behind on posts, and hopefully you've gotten some good info so far. Just in case this might help, I've listed some alternatives to what you said in your post. Good luck......corn is in just about anything they can add it to, but it can be eliminated with diligence. Elsie (in Texas) Please Help - Going Corn-Free (OUCH @#$%^&*) >You know now if I give her a > cereal made with corn like Corn Pops, French Toast Crunch,> We use Erewhon Rice Twice Cereal, or Barbara's Rice Cereal, and someone recently mentioned Poppets by Erewhon....I've not found these yet. > My daughter eats eggs in the morning with > rice toast and of course " Fleishman's no salt margarine (corn).> Hains makes a safflower margarine thats pretty good (does have soy, though). < Lunch is a > sandwich w/smucker's grape jelly (corn), fruit & gatorade.> Polaner All-fruit grape jelly is corn free. We don't do gatorade (does that have corn?). R.W.Knudsen makes a good Pear juice (organic) that's corn free. > Any help will be greatly appreciated! > > , if you need more info or more specifics, just email me and I'll try to give you more ideas. Good luck. erussell@...

A most recently I have descovered the corn is often in common table salt yet not listed. It is is some pickles, spagghetti sauce, and the base for many pre-packaged GFCF foods. At the Health Food store we buy CFGF and Crn F vinegar and mayo and many products made with sea salt. Check your potato chips most are fried in corn oil and all are sprinkled with SALT- I finally found potato sticks made with beet sugar and seasalt that are cool. honey hams are often corn free but were are now avoiding the nitrates too. We have been sucessfully consuming welches fruit juice pops- grape raspberry strawberry. They are the only ones I have found safe. Pacific cocoa rice milk is safe I just called this week. Of coarse all the cereals are nasty except rice puffs. I am waiting to hear from aldis about a fruity rice made with sugar not cornsyrup but lisiting natural flavoring- im most fruity rice cereals this is jucie -but all other cereals list malt and this one doesnt. I will be so excited if it turns out safe!! Good luck- __________________________________________________
