Guest guest
I agree since my son recovered and he has been 100% on the diet almost a year. Miracles do happen. My son was 13 months old when the developmental pediatrician diagnosed him with PDD. She believes in the diet and TF since she has seen first hand the great results. I recommend the diet to anyone. I help many individuals in my area that feel it is hard and confusing. We are all in this together and need to help one another. LOL
Guest guest
: What a wonderful loving mother you are to help your child through this medical issue. It is such a wonderful feeling to know that the diet has helped and there is no medication that she is taking. You deserve an award for all of your hard work. Good luck, Sharon

I would definitely consider this recovery. , Congratulations to you and your daughter! I pray that someday I'll be able to say the same about Brett. My " long-term " goal is to get him in regular kindergarten (he just turned 3). Successes like yours give me hope! Thanks for making my day, Sue
Guest guest
.. ...but Autism is not > curable..? My daughter was diagnosed PDD-NOS a year ago at 2 1/2. She is now 3 1/2 and is no longer autistic spectum. She just underwent an evaluation by a very reputable neurologist and he said that she has lost any signs of autism and that if he didn't know her history he would have had a hard time believing it. She still has a slight speech delay and can be a little spacey, but thats it. She attends normal preschool, is very social, and is doing much better then I ever thought possible. I do believe in the " leaky gut " theory of autism for my child, and I do believe that my daughter was " cured " by the diet. My child followed a similar path to that of Karyn Seroussi's son. I do not think that all children with autism have the " leaky gut " kind, I think that there are many different things that can cause it. Guest guest
> jennifer, > did your daughter just do the diet or did she have > intensive aba as well? > She did mild ABA with me and her nanny. We pretty much taught ourselves. Nevern did she have an intensive ABA program, I don't believe that ABA was for her. She also has had speech therapy 2x a week and OT once a week. -
Guest guest
No, not all children respond to the diet. Some do respond within days, some after many months. Some have added food problems, especially corn and/or soy. Some need yeast treatment before improvement is seen. Some accidentally continue to receive " hidden " gluten or casein through products like meds, shampoo, playdough, paste. It can help to have some tests run, like the IgG food panel to learn which foods are major problems, or opioid testing for casomorphin and gluen opioids, and celiac disease screening. But there are exceptions to every rule. So usually it takes a 100% gfcf effort for several months before one knows whether the diet is beneficial. BTW, several mainstream studies have been posted recently regarding GI damage in ASD children. It might be helpful to read them & take them with you to your appointment. It's great to read how well your child is doing. > Hi there > > My son was diagnosed with PDD at 19 mos. It was very devastating for me > and the rest of the family. Guest guest
Rebekha, Putting your baby on the diet for two months is not long enough. Try it for a total year. I hate to say this but your GI doctor wont do anything. I could be wrong but it's the same old story. These kids have major biological issues. Ones that can be fixed and fixed for good with the proper treatments. If you would like more information email me. I am also involved with a group on the net that targets the biological issues only. Good luck......and yes there are kids that wont benifit from the diet but your child being so young should. Give it more time.
