Hi Kris,

I have been dx with SCH (subchorionic hemmorrhage) as well. I bled

from approx 6-12 weeks and thankfully none since. How it was

explained to me is that the bleeding is caused by rupture of tiny

blood vessels on the uterine wall from attachment of the placenta.

The blood pools, then gravity being what it is, it has to exit

somehow.

From what I know, alot of times the blood reabsorbs too, and the

vessels seal off, which is what I think must have happened in my

case, because they actually only saw the sch on my 12 week

ultrasound, even though I had been spotting for 6 weeks. The ironic

thing is that I hadn't bled from a few days before the ultrasound

when they saw the blood and I haven't actually bled since....which

is why I think it must have sealed off and the existing blood

reabsorbed.

I had a Dr who didn't know much about obs/sch tell me I was at

higher risk for abruption, placental insufficiency and prem labor

which of course scared the crap out of me...and was told not to

excercise, etc...thankfully someone who knew alot more than this doc

set me straight and told me I was no more at risk than anyone else.

I know that your situation is different, as it sounds like you were

further along when you developed the sch, but take it one day at a

time, Kris...

Wishing you well, and hope this post helps you know you are not

alone too!

Hugs,

RN
