Guest guest
Hello, I had gastric reduction ds about 2 1/2 years ago... I lost about 150 pounds after surgery. Now I am 13 weeks pregnant and I seem to have a hard time gaining weight. In fact I have lost about 16 pounds. Granted, I was pretty sick... I had bad morning sickness and I even had a case of Salmanella... that had me sick for over 3 weeks... But, now that the morning sickness is better, and I feel like I can eat again... I'm still not gaining any weight. I am worried about the baby, my Dr. said that it is ok to loose weight the first 12 weeks... but I expected to see some weight gain by now. Anyone else have a problem with weight loss? edd 12-09-
Guest guest
Hi , I lost 10 lbs in the first 3 months of my pregnancy and I didn't begin to gain any until around week 24 and at that point it has only been 1-2 lbs some weeks 0 lbs other weeks. Well, after gaining a whole 6 lbs of pregnancy weight (with twins) I am on the losing side again, even tho I am making sure I eat right and often. Doc isn't a bit worried since everything is looking really well with my pregnancy. Right now my two little ones are close to 3.5 lbs each at 30 weeks and my regularly monitored blood is showing my vitamin levels are hanging around where they should be... with the exception of iron which is just slightly below normal and I was prone to anemia even before my RNY bypass and pregnancy. As long as your doc is keeping close track of your and your baby's progress and watching your blood nutrition levels and things are looking ok, I wouldn't worry about the lost weight affecting your baby. Try not to stress about the weight and concentrate on getting in as much proper nutrition as possible. Guest guest
Hello , I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and still have not gained any weight. I actually have lost over 25 pounds. I had my WLS 2 years ago in March. My doctor is not worried as long as I eat. I think I should be gaining weight because I am eating a lot for me....but nothing. Don't worry you're baby will take what it needs from your body......just take your vitamins and drink lots of water. Good Luck! Chrystal Wife to Jace - together 6 Years! Happy Mommy to - 4 Years Old! Guest guest
It is normal and common to lose weight in the first trimester from sickness and then you will slowly put some on in the second and the most will go on in the 3rd. I have gained 35 pounds but it ws from the middle of the pg on... God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY Age- 41 EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!!
