Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone else has a child in the DDB and in daycare, and if so, how do you handle things with reduced hours? We just started the DDB a week ago, but I wanted to prepare daycare as much as possible for reduced hours. and I thought daycare could just take the bar off when Aleksander was awake, but leave the shoes on, and then when he naps she can just attach the bar to his shoes again. I just don't really trust anyone (not even !) to put the shoes on properly, especially since we've had some problems with the shoes to begin with. We had also considered that maybe he just wears the shoes all day and has them off in the evenings when he gets home. We are both home by 4:30 at the latest, and Aleksander tends to stay up until 9 or 10. Our only problem with this is that he's awake more during the day and will be motivated by the other children and daycare to crawl and move around. We don't want to slow him down developmentally just because we don't trust daycare. Thanks!
Guest guest
- Our son is also in daycare with the ddb. Instead of doing nights and naps we just leave them on for about 16 hours straight. They go on at 6 - 7 pm and come off at 11:00 am. This way we are the only ones putting them on (unless the little wiggle worm gets out of them, of course) Hope that helps Keri Jordan Unilateral club foot 8/19/04 (mommy can't remember which foot is clubbed and which one isn't anymore!.......she spent all night awake taking care of me since I am a teething monster)
Guest guest
, Ava isn't in daycare, but I was thinking what if you had them take the shoes off 3 or 4 hours before you're due to pick up? That way he could have his time off with other children & play...but then you could take him home, give him a bath, and put the shoes back on by yourself so you'll know it's done correctly. Guest guest
Can't help with day care but I will say wearing the DBB did not slow my son down at all developmentally. s. Guest guest
My 7month old is in day care and at reduced hours-ie he is at 20 hours a day. We have his teacher take the DBB off at 2pm since he goes to bed at 6pm(hence 4 hours off). It works out pretty well. We have only forgotten to pick up his DBB once but they called us and told us to come back and get it since they know how important it is in the treatment. Hope this helps! kathleen 8/28/04 dbb 20/7 > > I was wondering if anyone else has a child in the DDB and in daycare, > and if so, how do you handle things with reduced hours? > > We just started the DDB a week ago, but I wanted to prepare daycare > as much as possible for reduced hours. > > and I thought daycare could just take the bar off when > Aleksander was awake, but leave the shoes on, and then when he naps > she can just attach the bar to his shoes again. Guest guest
Hi there, Our son just got his hours reduced today! Hooray! He is almost 7 months. I was wondering.. Does having the bar off affect taking naps? We were planning on keeping the bar on in the morning too. He usually takes a late nap around 4:00. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with bar weaning and sleep difficulties?? Thanks, Lori _____ From: leenernd Sent: Wednesday, April 06, 2005 5:09 AM To: nosurgery4clubfoot Subject: Re: DDB and Daycare My 7month old is in day care and at reduced hours-ie he is at 20 hours a day. Guest guest
Darbi kicks he legs restlessly at night if the FAB isn't on. She wakes incessantly (ok, she wakes with the brace on too... driving me nuts...) till I put it back on. This problem does not exist for naps. Weird if you ask me... Guest guest
We tried a nap today with out the brace. no luck. I guess we'll just have to keep trying. And take that darn brace on and off all day :-).
