Hi everybody! It's been so long since I've been on line. Team

Lapish is doing well. Very busy! I'm getting bigger 4 months along

now and starting to show. There goes that 25 pounds I just lost!

It's worth it :) Anyway, Pippin has started her food therapy program

and is making huges steps. Not eating/swallowing yet but she will

put food into her mouth and actually drink from a straw. It's only

been 3 weeks...the therapist is very pleased. And she is days away

from walking on her own :)

About the LPA convention, it was a spring regional only 5 minutes

from our house, so we figured what the heck! There are 5 different

states in our region. There were over 300 little people there with

their families average size or not or both. It was really a great

experience. We learned alot at the parent meeting. There was

actually a possible RSS boy there who didn't know about MAGIC, so out

came a blue phamphlet and hopefully he and his family will attend

this years convention hopefully for a confirmed dx. There was another

family there with a 16 year old SGA who was familiar with MAGIC and

had attended a convention. She also sang the praises to this little

boys family so we'll see.

Pippin was actually very big. We made a great friend who was 4 and

as tall as Pippin (26inches). He mom is a little person and was on a

GT for 5 years, so I picked the granny's (average size) brain as to

how she got her off the tube and onto food. It was also a great

experience for Tully - who just turned 4 - She really got a crash

course on being different and loving yourself and treating others the

way you want to be treated. So just for that real life lesson

learned I recommend it:)

Other really neat things we learned:

-Section 504 for environmental issues not an IEP but law like the IEP

-Visit your childrens school months before school is OUT to make sure

the necessary environmental/physical issues won't be an issue for our

small children.

We won't be going every year, but if there is another convention

close to home, we would go. Chicago in July is the place for us

every year! But I do recommend it if anybody is thinking about it

or has thought about it.
