Guest guest
i have joined the adultmito group and received a confirmation email but I am not able to get into the messages. In this group there is a link under the " home " link that says " messages " but there isn't one in the adult mito group. I tried to click on the number of messages in that chart for the month but can't access it that way either. I have posted a message asking about it and saw the message number has gone up about six messages so I know there are messages there but can't get them. Does anyone know how that forum works differently than this one?
Guest guest
It may be that members do not have access to the archives. If this is true, then you will not be able to access the archives as you do here. laurie > i have joined the adultmito group and received a confirmation email but > I am not able to get into the messages. Guest guest
Hi, I belong to the Adultmito group since the start of it. Right now I am on NO Mail. This support group was set up so that " no one " can access the " messages " . It was done this way to protect the members and their privacy. If the archives are " Open " that means anyone can read what the members write. This would include insurance companies, doctors, attorneys, husbands, family members, and other people from using the information against that person. If you wrote an email to the list you should have seen it in your " inbox " . If you are not getting mail I would suggest that you contact the moderator of the list. I believe her email addy is listed on the yahoo page under the information about the Adultmito group. Or maybe you can check the yahoo page and make sure that you are to receive the emails and that you didn't check " digest " which means that they usually send out the digests when the get 25 or more messages. I hope this helps to explain how the group works. Any more questions just ask... Hugs, Ann-Marie Question for members of adultmito group? i have joined the adultmito group and received a confirmation email but I am not able to get into the messages. Guest guest
Thank you for helping me to understand about the old messages. I am not receiving any mail from the group and I know that there are messages being sent because I can see the number going up. I have checked my edit settings and I think I have the right settings but who knows. I will send an email like you suggest. Thank you for the help. > > > Hi, > > I belong to the Adultmito group since the start of it. Guest guest
In most groups, even those requiring moderator-approval for membership, group members (by Yahoo sign in, did you do this, semandyred?) can view the archives . But this policy where " no one " can access the " messages " (i.e. archive) is more restrictive, even restricting members from viewing an archive containing messages they previously saw in their inbox. The only sense I can see to this, is that you can't search the past unless you were a member from long ago (and had saved old messages). So someone from an insurance company can still sign up for the list, but they can't see what has transpired PREVIOUSLY. But as you say, Ann-Marie, there surely should be messages in the email inbox. Even the digests come out at least once a day (in case there are less than 25 messages), but it's possible this is settable by the moderator. That said, I have intermittently, and also very recently, had problems with delayed, dropped, and out-of-order digests from , so I've just switched to plain delivery (with a rule-based folder to hold all this stuff separately). Guest guest
semandyred You might want to go to your membership page and see if you are bouncing. If there have been several bounces (often a server is blocking all group accounts) then mail is stopped. You can re-instate it from this page. laurie > In most groups, even those requiring moderator-approval for membership, > group members (by Yahoo sign in, did you do this, semandyred?) can view the > archives .
