Guest guest
Kirby has had a dry circle (penny size) on his cheek for about a week now. Actually coincides with his bed wetting re-occurrence. Any ideas? Thanks. Lolita
Guest guest
Hi Jeannie, It started out looking like ringworm, with a clear center. Now it's a white dryness, but still very circular. Lolita >Is it raised, red, bumpy? Is it just a patch of white dryness, or does >it look like a doughnut with a center than is unaffected? >It could be eczema. Guest guest
I don't know -- gets this too and *I* do as well! I have one on my stomach right now. I had one on my arm once and showed it to a doctor. He was a reproductive endocrinologist so not exactly a specialist in the area. He gave me antibiotics for it. All that did was give me a raging yeast infection. AARG. I am going to take Sam to a great dermatologist and see what he says. If I find anything out, I'll let you know. Sam is also complaining of itchiness in the crooks of his arms and legs, and frankly, I have very itchy upper arms. It's all such a mystery sometimes. Guest guest
Yes, actually it does help. My younger kids get these (and other skin problems) all the time. I didn't " feel'' like these were ringworm, but couldn't figure out why they looked so similar. Thank you. Guest guest
My 2 1/2 yr old boy gets theses dry patches too. It's eczema. He sometimes gets it on his cheek or the back of his elbows. It doesn't seem to bother him. I use Eucerin cream or plain ol vaseline. It works very well on him. Rebekha
Guest guest
Thanks, it does seem to be the consensus, eczema. just told me that mercury can cause an eczema like rash. Makes sense. Guest guest
A discussion regarding circular rashes took place on the autism-mercury group in mid-March. I went into the archive and pulled up the following website that may lead you to some answers. Also, I encourage you to look into the autism-mercury digest to review rashes. Under archive search type circular type rash to get directly to the information. Website referenced in that discussion was: http://dermnetnz.org Good luck! Guest guest
My son just went to the Dr. last week for something that someone said looked like ringworm and he said it was eczema. He said if it was ringworm that it would also be raised and dry withing the circle not clear. MA

I'm sure your doctor is correct in saying it is eczema, but I want people to be aware as tick season approaches. Judy
Guest guest
There is the possibilities of it being yeast or another type of fungal infection. Antibiotics would be the worse thing for something like that. Betty ----- Original Message ----- > I don't know -- gets this too and *I* do as well! I have one on > my stomach right now.
