hey laura!!

we used the alcohol wipes for the first 2 weeks and then found that

it was better not to. we would give him his shot after his bath so

we knew he was clean. we think the alcohol would make it sting some

when getting the shot, because when we stopped wiping and just gave

the shot he cooperated more.

Every expert we have talked to has said do NOT use alcohol, unless

you are giving him a shot in an area that is very dirty or you are

camping. The alcohol can sting the skin, and then when you give the

shot, the alcohol can enter the tiny tiny pinprick and " hurt. "

(Now, those same experts told us they aren't supposed to tell us not

to use alcohol pads...)

Also, has found that her butt shots hurt way less than her

leg shots. She takes it in the leg if she is at a sleepover or

something, but other than that, she likes it in her butt (more fatt

for her there).

I posted an email about a week ago on GH shots, go back and try and

find it. But I talked about the stages that most kids go through --

OK with it, screaming and fighting and resisting, resigning

themselves and OK.
