Guest guest
--Hi I was just wanting to reply to your msg.. My son doesn't have that problem but he did have Hypospadias(where the hole is on the shaft) The main concern you will need to know about surgery is the Anethisiea to make sure that they do not give him to much, make sure they weigh him to see what the dosage is for smaller kids. His first surgery they wanted him to weigh 12 pounds before they would do the surgery. They started to base mine by his age when he had his second surgery and I had to remind her of his weight to make sure he didn't get to much!!! My son had a reaction after the surgery to the liquid demaroll( sp) and liquid tylenol with codine,It was suppose to help him keep still and not in pain but it made him bounce off the walls (which was not good he ripped out a couple stitches.I think it made him in no pain and he thought he could do any thing, trying to jump and flip around!!!! Hope this little bit of info can help you out!! Prayers and hugs to you!! mom to ,5 yrs. 27 pounds 36 inches on Growth hormone and prevacid - In RSS- Support , ilene bloch wrote: > Dear Group: > > My 19-month old (still not definitely confirmed diagnosis of RSS) grandson > is scheduled to undergo surgery for an undescended testicle at the end of > July. Guest guest
A bit of an update and some info on the undescended testicele: Keigan just went in this past Friday for outpaitent surgery for his right testicle. They couldn't find it before, so they were gonna look for it and proceed from what they found. Everything went well and we had no problems with the anestesia (sp?)...they did great dealing with his weight and not his age. Anyway, they found the testicle and did 1 or 2 surgeries to bring it down. He will have to go back in 3 months to finish the job. As I said before, we had no problems. Granted he has a bunch of small slits in his tummy but most are less than an inch. Keep in mind they did not know if he even had one so the scoped for it 1st. They used the " glue " instead of stitches which I absolutly love! I would recommend those if possible. I know my son would pick if there were stitches. The day we had it done, he slept the whole day and night. We had to wake him up to change diapers and feed him. By day 2 he was back up and moving around. They gave him tylenol with codine but he hasn't needed any today. Don't know if any of this will help you out or not but figured I would pipe up Mommy to Keigan 4-15-03 (RSS) and Tristian 9-26-
