Guest guest
hi all, i have a question about assymetry. my daughter ,28 months, was at the orthopedics and he found that the differance between the legas became 3 cm (about 1.2 inches) instead 2.5 cm (1 inche)! he said that the propotion will stay the same but actually we can see that the differance will increase..and maybe she will need an operation with time.. does any of you have experiance with this increasing differance? hope to hear from you .it will help me a lot. thank you all, tikva _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? Guest guest
Tikva - Yes, the proportion should stay the same but sometimes the amount does get bigger (sometimes not, however). To be honest, the leg lengthening surgery is quite complex. I am going to email a mom whose son was going to have the surgery a couple weeks ago and find out how it went (he is 16 yrs old). But most people do not opt for this surgery. Shoe lifts are so incredible this day and age. Anyway. I will let you know if I get ahold of the mom. > hi all, i have a question about assymetry. > my daughter ,28 months, was at the orthopedics and he found that the > differance between the legas became 3 cm (about 1.2 inches) instead 2.5 cm > (1 inche)! > he said that the propotion will stay the same but actually we can see that > the differance will increase..and maybe she will need an operation with > time.. > > does any of you have experiance with this increasing differance? > hope to hear from you .it will help me a lot. > thank you all, tikva > > _________________________________________________________________ > Tired of spam? Guest guest
Hello Tvika, My son is 5 and yes the leg assymetry is getting more over the years. He has a 2.8 cm and my ortho tells me that he will probably have about 5 cms by the time he is adult. We are contemplating doing the leg lengthening because if we chose to do the leg shortening he will loose about 2 inches from his adult height and im not willing to do that to him!... As for the lifts... i asked if he could just have lifts his whole life and he simply said sure but he will be guaranted to have severe back and hip problems then. We will be doing the surgery within a couple of years..probably around the age of 7... I feel aweful about it..but i want it to live pain free. . Owen, rss, 5, 26lbs, 37 inches and assymetrical. > > hi all, i have a question about assymetry. > > my daughter ,28 months, was at the orthopedics and he found that > the > > differance between the legas became 3 cm (about 1.2 inches) > instead 2.5 cm > > (1 inche)! > > he said that the propotion will stay the same but actually we can > see that > > the differance will increase..and maybe she will need an operation > with > > time.. > > > > does any of you have experiance with this increasing differance? > > hope to hear from you .it will help me a lot. > > thank you all, tikva > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > > Tired of spam?
