Guest guest
Joy, Your question was a good one and try not to let others bring you down for asking that is what this board is all about is to ask question's that you don't know. If someone doesn't like the post they know how to hit the delete key. I think we are all grown up on this board, so if you don't like something hit your delete key people. Guest guest
Joy I think that if you truely want to experience pregnancy you should at least try post WLS. You are older than most 1st time mommies but so what - if the doctors think you are healthy enough try! Once the big change comes it will be too late to try and adoption will be the only option for you. You may get there and regret not trying post op. 44 is not unheard of and yeah you will probabally feel more tired and stressed because of your age but post op you are probabally healthier than you were at an obese younger age.I am 37 and I feel old but am soo glad that I am finally able to have a child of my own. This is a blessing for me and I know it will be for you also if it is meant to be. Good Luck and definately talk to your doc. - Diane > I am a long time lurker with no imput as I am not pregnant yet. But Love reading about everyone and getting info for the future. > > I do have a question for you all. I am a 44yr old who has no children. I have had 8 known miscarriages before wls a yr ago. I have not tried yet to concieve but have an appointment with my gyn in Jul. I am reading here how many of you feel it's getting late to have more children at the age of 37 or so. I am now feeling I'm too old. I would love to at least have one child. > > I see such actress as Gena who is 48 or A couple more (can't think of names now) who are well in the late 40 " s so why couldn't I. > > I know beacuse of my age I may not be able to but I think it's worth a shot. > > I am going to mention to my dr. about the early progesterine, the lovenox shots and clomid. > > What do you all think? > > Joy > open RNY 6/5/03 > 290/
Guest guest
Joy, I have to say I know what you are feeling. I am 39 yrs young! And pregnant for the eighth/ninth/or tenth time. I have one son he is 20 yrs old now, and I am now pregnant again. This is the first pregnancy for me since WLS. I had an open RNY in August 2003. I have lost 130 pounds, and I am now 7 weeks pregnant. I had my first u/s last week and when I saw the heartbeat I about started crying. (most of my miscarriages ended between 6-8 weeks and only one time there was a heartbeat). I did not take clomid. I do however take the progesterone 2x a day and I take Lovenox 1x daily. I feel wonderful! I am eating healthy, getting my rest, and praying daily that my baby will be safe in my uterus and that my baby will be born healthy. I also pray that I will not have a relapse of my Multiple Sclerosis. There are risks with have a baby at a later age...but in my mind, it is 100% worth any discomfort and worries that I go through. Good luck with your ventures.
