Guest guest
hey... my daughter wears a hinged bar with AFO's... it's produced by Dr Dobb's at St Louis Children's Hospital in MO... it was approved by Dr Ponseti.. grace had the old style DBB/FAB (red one with the markells) and that was ok... but she has responded to the hinged bar much better... some people that have used it don't like the plastic AFO that is used.. but he can also mount the bar to the Markells if you would like... i am a HUGE fan of this brace.. and wouldn't go back to the old style for anything.. i will send you pictures of it if you would like... i have also attached Dr Dobb's info in case you would like to get in contact... grace is 16 months old and in the brace 16/7 right now.. (was treated non-ponseti for 13 months and Dobb's had to re-do her tenotomy)... so she was much older than normal having to wear the brace 23/7 and she really did fine with it.. she even cruises the furniture... hth... Dr. Dobbs (his secretary ) dobbsmatthew@... also.. the brace shop.... Osterman mommy to Grace 12-03-03 Dobb's Brace 16/7 saltcityfoot saltcityfoot@...> wrote: Has anyone heard of a hinged bar. Something that would continue to apply external rotational force yet allow some mobility for comfort. I think this would certainly improve compliancy with wearing the brace. Have such a bar been used and found to be ineffective? Is there a study out there on trial with a hinged bar. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
