Guest guest
Yes, as far as I know, that would be the " Dobbs Brace " . There are few here whose children are using the Dobbs brace. I'm sure that someone will pipe up soon and give you his contact info! Daiga and Owen > > > Has anyone heard of a hinged bar. Guest guest
Dobbs has been treating our son, and we just had our shoe fitting today. There is a new brace that is proven by Dobbs to work and they have been perfecting the shoe for comfort. The shoe is not a traditional shoe, but sort of like a skiboot liner. The brace allows them to kick their feet. We will not have any first hand experience with this new brace until mid May. But I would imagine that others on this board have..... Hope this helps. > > > > > > Has anyone heard of a hinged bar. Guest guest
I just learnt something new! I have read some posts mentioning the Dobbs brace and thought it was just another brace similar to the DBB, but never knew it was hinged. Doh, I have even seen the pictures of them come to think of it. Can't believe I have been in la la land all this time. Guest guest
I want to start a campaign on here to eliminate the term DBB in favor of FAB....I keep thinking of Denis Brown's treatment plan and hate having that associated with the good Dr. Ponseti! s. I just learnt something new! I have read some posts mentioning the Dobbs brace and thought it was just another brace similar to the DBB, but never knew it was hinged. Guest guest
my daughter grace uses the " skiboot liner " that you are talking about... it is GREAT... i am sure everyone is sick of hearing my praises about it... lol... but it really is an ingenious design... grace actually " helped " me put them on this weekend... handing me the parts and trying to tighten the straps... she's such a helper... lol... but i think the design at shriners isn't hinged... i may be wrong.. but that's what i was understanding... they are constantly taking feedback and making changes and updating things.. i made a comment of some marks on her foot and after he looked at it and studied it he made the changes to correct the problem right then and there... no questions asked.. so they are wonderful people and i am sooooo glad i made the change in doctors.. and soooo glad it wasn't too late when i did... mommy to Grace 12-03-03 BCF Dobb's Brace 16/7 ley smithshe@...> wrote: Dr. Dobbs' brace is only available in his office at Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
