I don't think I'll ever stop checking her feet every few days for a relapse.

She's been out of the shoes for 10 months now!! For all of you newbies,

check out our family website for details about our story:

www.geocities.com/joannewalton2003/clubfootstory.html

The Markells now go to at least size 9. If they're not covered by insurance,

you can order them from public shoe in Arlington VA (publicshoe@...) for

~$65 plus shipping.

Someone mentioned being concerned about their child's legs looking like an

upside down Y. I'm not sure if anyone addressed it since I've gotten behind

in my posts, again, hence the all inclusive posting... the bowing out of the

legs is something called tibial torsion. My daughter has it. I heard Dr.

Herzenberg speak about it at his symposium last Sept. and he said that it

was separate from the clubfoot and just how the child's legs were shaped.

Depending on how bad it is, I don't think there's any type of intervention

unless it was interfering with proper use of his legs. My husband has the

same thing and surprisingly small calves for a guy his size.

Hope this helps someone!

Subject: Crazy or Normal??!!

so as you know Grace was reduced to 16 hours last week... and i

couldn't be happier... but now i am finding myself constantly worried

about relapse... always looking at her feet while she stands and sits

and whatever.. almost like i never look any where else.. and when

she's just sitting there playing i feel like i should coax her to get

up and do something on her feet and not just sitting playing with a

toy.. i'm starting to feel a little crazy... i just don't want any set

backs since she was treated non ponseti for 13 months and had major

relapse issues... does any other parent worry overly about it or do i

need the help??!!!

and are there any suggestions to help me to stop worrying so much?
