Guest guest
i haven't had a csection after WLS yet, but i did have one while very overwieght and i wore a " band " around my belly to keep my skin from touching my body, to decrease infection. it's very uncomfortable, but does the job. good luck, i hope you find the answers you are looking for... aka mom2ben99 (jennilee75@...) Scheduled for C-Section July 3rd and Terrified My due date is July 14th, but my Dr is afraid with my hernia and this kid being like 8-9lbs already that all the pushing that is involved it will make my hernia worse then it already is. It does bother me sometimes but not bad. He never even mentioned wearing a binder during labor. After they scared the hell out of me before my GBS which was 8-21-04 about blood clots and such. My WL surgeon had his patients given ourselves Lovenox(Blood thinner) shots everyday for 10 days after surgery. So now im terrified having this C-section and not to mention the epidural or spinal...a needle in my back just makes me wanna cry even thou if I had gone natural i wanted anyway. I am not very good when it comes to pain. So I am scared that something is gonna go wrong and with all the extra skin i have since WLS surgery im also afraid about the C-section healing. Am I just being silly or what?? Has anyone had a C-section with all the extra skin and how did you deal with getting the inscision to heal??? Any information would ease my worries. Thanks so much. Guest guest
, I just went through this myself and I was also worried about the incision healing with the excess skin. I am happy to report that all went well with the healing, no infection or any other issues. Try to relax if you can. I was awake for the whole thing and I was really more focused on getting my daughter out than the pain of the surgery. Guest guest
I've had 2 c-sections- one before WLS and one after. Although the pg AFTER WLS nearly killed me, the recovery from the c-section was just as easy (actually easier b/c I developed a perforated bladder that leaked urine into my c-section incision and abscessed that I had to be rehospitalized on triple IV antibiotics for)..... so, never fear.... I LOVED MY C-SECTIONS and will have them with ALL future babies that God chooses to bless me with!!!! Sheila
