Guest guest
, I think aspartame is best limited during pregnancy and believed that even when I had a normal stomach. :-) Can you find Splenda (sucralose) equivalents for the things you love that have Nutrasweet in them? That's what I've done, and I really don't much like Nutrasweet anymore. Aspartame Question To: ossg-pregnant I have been reading some of the posts about aspartame and the effects on pregnancy. I am rather concerned, due to the fact that I practically live on the stuff due to the inability to tolerate sugar, nor do I want to gain my 143 lbs back with this pregnancy. There is NO WAY I can get by with just having a couple of packets a day. Does anyone know of any studies done on this?? I thought this was metabolized in our system just as any natural food product is. I sincerely need my aspartame..thanks in advance! Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:
Guest guest
You should limit your consumption for the baby's sake but my nutritionist recomends Splenda. It is made from sugar and tastes great and is suposed to be safe during pregnancy. Even with splenda you shouldn't " live on it " though. As for the 140 lbs you are not going to gain it ALL back. Your body is different than it was before( you wouldn't dump on sugar if it was the same) You will gain some probabally but that is what is best for the little one. Take it day by day and do what is best for the baby. congratulations - Diane > I have been reading some of the posts about aspartame and the effects > on pregnancy.
