Guest guest
I started potty training my 2 1/2yr old(PDD). He did well in the morning and did well at school, but when he came home from school he wanted nothing to do with the potty. All he did was scream and did not pee once. I've been putting him on the potty every 10 to 15mins and I keep him on for at least 5mins. I do have an older boy(NT) who was also difficult to potty train but he had speech. It took him 2 weeks and no accidents. He was also 3yrs. old. My 2 1/2 yr old did very well when the paci and the bottle was taken away.He was almost 2 when paci and the bottle were taken. I'm assuming it's time for him to get out of diapers. He also stays dry through the night. How much time should I give this? It's only been a day but it seems like a week. Rebekha
Guest guest
Personally, I wouldn't push it. I wouldn't put him on any more than once every hour, and I wouldn't make him stay on for more than a minute or two. You don't want him to dread going into the bathroom. If you aren't seeing any progress after 3 days, wait awhile. Guest guest
I wonder if after school this is his way of exerting some control after probably spending a few hours where he had very little. Therefore, I wouldnt " push " him after school for an hour or two until he feels a little more at ease and in control. i would still take him to go once or twice very nonchallantly and then let it go with any resistance. i believe they do this when they are ready even psychologically ready and if it becomes a contol issue then you will definitely lose. This is only my suggestion of course based on the way I see and do things. Good luck, Re: Re: [GFCFKids Potty training > I started potty training my 2 1/2yr old(PDD). > He did well in the morning and did well at school, but when he came home from > school he wanted nothing to do with the potty.
