Guest guest
We went to see Dr. Dobbs yesterday. I didn't get a chance to post to see if anyone was going to be there......were you? I made the appoitment the afternoon before left for work, worked, came home at 9pm, went to bed, got up and left. We weren't due to go back until June, but had been pulling his feet out of his shoes the past several nights in his sleep. He would holler and wake us up asking for them to be put back on. He still had a little room in the toes (he's in the closed toe shoes) but they were too narrow for him. We got new shoes. Dr. Dobbs was happy with his feet and motion and he told us he could quit wearing them at four-years-old (August 12) and see him six months later unless we notice any signs of relapse or problems prior to that. He said to realize there is still a small chance of relapse, but the chance is greatly reduced after four. I can't believe we're almost at the end of the road!!!! Boy will this be one birthday, burning of the shoes party (okay so we probably won't really burn them). He would actually be sad if we burned them. I also want to make a big deal of it, but not TOO big because what if he had to start wearing them again? Any suggestions ideas for celebration would be appreciated! Dr. Dobbs seems very pleased with his new brace. Pam and (8-12-01)
Guest guest
Pam, that's great news! Wow, you're so close to the end of the road that you can see it! I don't know what I'm going to do when I get to that point...I may just keep them on Owen until he asks not to wear them anymore. Congrats! Daiga > We went to see Dr. Dobbs yesterday. Guest guest
LOL! I've thought of this too. I asked Dr. Dobbs if is still tolerating the bar at 4 did he want me to come back and get a new pair of shoes. He said that we had to stop sometime. I will probably drive myself crazy staring at his feet when the time comes! Pam and (8-12-01) > > We went to see Dr. Dobbs yesterday. Guest guest
Thanks to everyone for all the congratulations. It seems like I was just sitting here trying to figure out what we were going to do, what method to use, and what Dr. to see. Enjoy all the times, even the downs with the ups!
