Guest guest
My son, age 7, gets very anxious about going to the dentist. He really dislikes getting his teeth cleaned (we haven't even approached the idea of getting x-rays yet). It's usually a big screamfest. This time, I took along a portable CD player and headphones and let him pick out a disc. The dentist wasn't keen on the idea (he likes to talk to the child as he works), but agreed to give it a try. Things went so much smoother with him listening to the music. Either the music just distracted him or it muffled the sound of the dental instruments, but either way it was a big help. After the appointment the dentist looked me straight in the eye and said, " Bring that again, next time please. "
