Guest guest
Tara, I don't know Dr. Ulin but I just wanted to say that I definitely agree with you on paying for the out of network benefits so your son can be treated by Dr. Scher. We have been down that road with a doctor who says he does the Ponseti Method but fails to mention he changed it to his own liking. Good Luck. Keep us posted. has anyone heard of this doctor Hi there, I live in NYC and planned on having Dr. Scher look after my son's feet once he is born (due July 4th). I have just been informed by my insurance company that they will not cover Dr. Scher because they have two other doctors in their network that practice the Ponseti Method. One of the drs they wouldn't recommend at all and the other they gave me his name. It is Dr. Ulin. I called Joyce in Iowa and they have never heard of him there. Has anyone on this forum heard anything at all about him. I am so scared to have someone treat my son who doesn't follow the Method to a tee. I will probably choose to pay out of pocket rather than have a non Dr. Ponseti endorsed doctor treat my son. Once again, thank you. Guest guest
I haven't heard of Dr. Ulin. What hospital is he affiliated with? We live in NYC as well and take our son to Dr. Feldman who is chief of Pediatric orthopedics at NYU and he doesn't accept our insurance either, but we go to him anyway. It's definitely worth it to go to someone who is trained in the method properly and knows what they are doing. If Ulin is at NYU or Hospt. of Joints Diseases then he most likely practices the Ponseti Method. taraknyc tkapoor@...> wrote: Hi there, I live in NYC and planned on having Dr. Scher look after my son's feet once he is born (due July 4th). Guest guest
Dr. Ulin is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mt. Sinai. His subspecialty is pediatric orthopaedic surgery. I don't get a good feeling from all of this. We are going to have to start a fight with our insurance co.

Guest guest
my son has been seeing dr. scher since he was born two years ago. i can enthusiastically recommend dr. scher. he knows what he is doing, follows the method without alteration, and has a great manner. in fact, before my son was born, i emailed ponseti and asked him who the best guys in nyc were, and he gave me a list in order; scher was at the top. feel free to email (offline, as i dont check the board much anymore) me if you have any questions. > > Dr. Ulin is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mt.
