Guest guest
Question--My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Ponseti. Abbi has been in the shoes and they have done wonders. Abbi is a very happy girl..is used to the shoes. My question--When she stands, she stands on the side of her foot or on her toes--just on the left side. Her right foot is straight and looks great.... Has this happened to anyone? Should I be concerned. Becky joannewalton2003 jowalton68@...> wrote: Thanks for sharing, Naomi! Will pass the info along... Guest guest
Becky- I would definitely have your daughter looked at, even if it's just the one foot that's looking different. She should not be standing on the side of her foot or on the toes- when Jake relapsed, he was doing both of those things, standing/walking on the outer edge of his foot and more on his toes. It's better to have it checked out sooner rather than later. Good luck, Kassia 3/22/01 (Lt clubfoot, ATTT surgery April 2004) and 11/22/
Guest guest
Kassia--What happened when your chikd relapsed? Did you have to go through surgery or did they just put on casts again? Guest guest
Jake was quite a lot older than Abbi...I believe his relapse started around age 2 (we could see him walking differently and his foot just didn't look as straight), but our dr in Cedar Rapids didn't agree until Jake was over 2 1/2 yrs old. At that point he referred us to Dr Dietz, who works with Dr Ponseti at the U of IA. By the time we got in to see Dr Dietz, Jake was almost 3 yrs old. He told us that older children generally don't respond well to casting and need to have the ATTT surgery done anyways...so Jake had ATTT surgery done in April 2004. hth, Kassia 3/22/01 (Lt clubfoot, ATTT surgery April 2004) and 11/22/
