I took for a 2nd opinion on his feet/progress to Dr. Mack at

Shriner's in Springfield, MA on Friday.

A little history...

is seeing a Dr. here in CT who is not Ponseti certified but

after interviewing him before was born, he said he did follow

the Ponseti method and answered all the questions correctly so we

decided to go with him. After 's 2nd cast, his feet looked so

good that our Dr. here put him in a Wheaton brace. Now, I knew that

this was not Ponseti protocol but went with the Dr's advice anyway.

After about 3 days his feet were turning back in again.

We went back to see him and was put back into casts number 3.

I also wrote to Dr. Ponseti who confirmed that the Wheaton Brace was

useless.

had his 4th casts put on and wore them for 3 weeks until last

Tuesday. He doesn't need a Tenotomy because his dorsoflexion is so

good.

He is adjusting to the DBB pretty well. We really haven't had too

much trouble. It's been a lot like when he would get a new cast.

Ever since the Wheaton brace, I have always had a little doubt in my

mind about the Dr. here and whether we were doing the right thing

with him.

Well, Dr. Mack (who is Ponseti ceritified) told us that 's feet

looked wonderful. That they couldn't be any better. He even took

one of his shoes to his people to show them the added padding in

's so that Dr. Mack's people could do it the same way.

This is such a relief! I strongly advise anyone who is not sure of

their child's progress or Dr. to get a 2nd opinion.
