Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Finally started to feel a bit better for a few days after a medpak, but fatigue/chills/muscle cramping/Left flank pain are now returning. Results of the upper GI: There was something in the small intestine but was unclear and I see a gastro specialist on the 25th. He does the new camera pill for small intestine so my dr is hoping to get better results of testing from that. Diverticuli was a possiblity on the film, but my family dr did not think that was it because I was having pain which is not common unless diverticuli is infected. At this point, they are thinking it is Crohn's disease. I can handle the pain (pretty much) but it is the fatigue 18-24 hrs a day that is so intolerable. I can sleep forever and still feel tired and weak. I have been tested for lupus, sgogroen's and every auto-immune disease that can be tested for through antibody, but everything is negative, but the ANA is border. Still haven't heard back from the genetic dr. So I am still waiting to hear if/when the skin biopsy....it was to be the next step. ALso if all the bloodwork was negative, he stated that a clinical diagnoses for now was possible to start treatment. I would just like to know if mito was ruled in or ruled out. When reading the posts I have noticed that there have been postings on abdominal pain. I wanted to share what the genetic dr told me regarding mito and intestine problems: He stated that it is possible for the nerves of the intestine to be affected with mito. A colonoscopy would not show anything unless a VERY special test was done to test the nerves also. THe symptoms that he stated were extreme pain on a certain side of the body and constipation. I believe that it was right sided pain, but cannot be 100% sure. If symptoms are constipation/diarrhea, pain, bloating, gassy feeling..sometimes lactose intolerant...IBS, irritable bowel syndrome, can cause these symptoms. I was diagnosed with this about 2yrs ago. Laurie F., good luck with your surgery on the 15th. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Don't forget to take your own advice of resting, resting, resting. Blessings, Previously Wrote: I have been so sick for about 3 weeks now....mostly just exhausted, chills/fever and left sided flank and abdominal pain. My family dr hospitalized me for 3 days to run testing..colonoscopy, ct and upper gi series along with mega antibodics. scope was fine. ct they weren't sure so they order upper gi. i see the dr on weds to get the results of gi series, but she said she would call if there was anything. was sent home with 2 different antibiotics; one twice a day and the other 3 a day.......still not feeling well. same old same old. felt okay in the hospital; other than the pressure pain. starting to wonder if it isn't mito flaring up. feel okay upon waking but as i move around i just really poop out!!!!!
