I want to extend a belated thank you to each of you who shared your

experiences of hysterectomy with me. I copied all of your responses

and read them carefully. They were heartening and helpful. Still, I

was overwhelmed with sorting out the details particular to my

situation and found myself too tongue-tied to respond to anyone

directly at the time. But please know that I greatly appreciate your

responses.

At this point, I have been stuck in a mode of waiting for busy

surgeons to get back from vacation, then to see me, then to get them

to understand the special circumstances that my ongoing chronic

illness contributes to the gynecological issues, then to have one

doctor worry about possible bladder and bowel problems that could

mimic gynecological issues (if only this had been raised awhile ago!),

etc., etc. Anyway, I'm advocating for myself ardently at this point

and trying to expedite the process. My doctors are really good, just

very busy, and I need to be a bee under bonnets (a polite bee, of

course). I'll let you know how it all turns out.

Best,

Shayna

Thanks for the update. Waiting is such an energy depleting process. I

hope you get to see the docs soon. Have you had a D&C. That is how

they figured out what was going on with me before doing the

hysterectomy.
