Guest guest
Hi all, I have been breezing past the posts about Vance's Dairy free and thought I would throw my .02 on information I have learned about certain substances.... -Titanium dioxide-This is an FDA approved colorant, there is no KNOWn toxicity and is considered safe by the FDA. It may cause skin irratation;inhalation in large amounts of titanium dioxide dust may cause lung damage;limited to 1% by weight. Keep in mind, alot of what we use, especially having to supplement the way we have to, sounds " il " at ease to say the least, here are other examples. Xanthum Gum-It is listed as cuation is advised, the additive may be unsafe, poorly tested,or used in foods we eat to much of. It is also listed that it may cause allergic reactions. May cause gastrointestinal upset, extracted from Xanthomonas campestris by solvent extraction which may lead to a toxic residue;may contain allowable amounts of lead, arsenic, and heavy metals * I added this additive because of the mom whose son had high levels of metal in her sons testing, if she uses xanthum gum, she may also want to consider this information. Xylitol-(articfical sweetner),Catuion is advised, poorly tested, may be unsafe or used in foods we eat to much of.It is considered to be mildly toxic;may cause stomach upset in large doses, has caused cancer in lab rats. I can go on and on.....Nothing we ingest is safe and pure unless we buy it or grow it in pure form....Vitamin E can be corn, soy or peanut based,Folic acid and ascorbic acid are all dangerous for our corn allergics.....the only way to avoid these problems ::::: well, we all know the answer to that one. I think for families in our situations, if we are heavily avoiding something, we can't take anything for granted,if you are unsure check, check and re-check, but keep in mind, all of your answers you receive can very.I grow my own veggies, supplement my child with only pure forms of supplements and if I happen to find an infraction I am not happy with, I delete it from our household. I am not telling all of you to grow your own veggies, slaughter your own cows and produce your own flours. I am telling you to use the purset form possible of something. If you have been using a product with no problems, then there probably isn't one to be seen in the first place. I certainly don't think everyone should run to their cupboards and dump out the dairy free. I hope I don't cause any hard feelings with this post,as I have stated before, emotions are so hard to read in an email. My intentions is to strictly state the facts that i have found, not to sway someone one way or another. Debbie Jusi
