Guest guest
I got a yeast infection last week and called my doc to see what I can do about it. The nurse told me to go ahead and use an over the counter product but just dont insert it as high as you would normally. She said that if I dont get any relief then to call and they will see me. She also said that it is extremely common for preggo women to get these when it is hot out. Lucky me I have an appointment tomorrow morning and I did the treatments but I still have some symptoms. So what will they do next? If the stuff that I have used in the past worked what can they do differently at the office? I hate getting cultures. Anyone been here before? Your imput would greatly help. BTW I am 13 weeks prego. Thanks, Shalonda EDD 1/6/05 RNY 9/11/

I have yeast infections under my belly from hanging skin. the doc noticed it last week doing my ultrasound and told me to use over the counter clotrimazole. she said be careful not to spread it to my labia area because yeast infections can be dangerous to the baby in the first trimester. I know in the past when I had a yeast infection that over the counter stuff didn't clear up I got a prescription dosage stronger than over the counter stuff but they don't like jumping straight to the higher doses because you can build up a tolerance to them and they won't be as effective the next times. good luck!
