Guest guest
Hi all, Not sure how long many of you have been members on here.....I'm Terri from Texas and I was on this list back in the fall of 2001. I had my LAP RNY in Feb. 2001. Then in Aug. of 2001, I found out I was pregnant. We were scared. It was so early after my surgery......anyway, long story short, I carried our daughter just fine until the sixth month.....then I started spotting and cramping. I went to the hospital and was told I was dilated to a 5. They could do nothing to stop the premature labor. I delivered Maci Kay back on New Years eve of 2001. She lived 2 hours and we lost her. So....we tried after that to have another baby.....(we already have a son who turns 13 yrs old in Dec)......anyway, no luck.....until now! We had been told back in April that I have fibroid tumors and if we were not going to have any more children, my doc was recommending a hysterectomy. So I scheduled it for this Thurs. It's been scheduled for months. Well last week I went in for pre-op lab work and I was told I AM PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!! I am in complete and total shock. I am 39....have fibroids....and have lost 6 babies to date.....they are watching me very closely.....here are my stats......I went in last Wed and had an HCG level of 24.1.....then the very next day (less than 24 hours later), my HCG level was 28.5.....then they waited until Monday and did my levels again and they were 91. They are shocked, they didn't expect the levels to raise, they didn't think this would be a viable pregnancy.....they told me to expect to lose this pregnancy and they would still do the hysterectomy but after seeing the level rise yesterday...they have cancelled my surgery......SOOOO......we are continuing to monitor my levels....will do another one tomorrow...so far, so good. This is in God's hands. Only HE intervenes like this........just 1 week before a hysterectomy....and without even trying and boom.......I am pregnant!!!!!!!!! Wow! I am amazed! So......please pray for us and if you have any knowledge of hcg levels or if you are or were a high risk pregnancy or if you have had fibroids, I would love to hear more info on that...... Hugs to all Terri Wilkes approx 6 weeks pregnant
