Guest guest
My 3 yr old daughter has been dairy free since February and Gluten free for 3.5 weeks. Initially her behavior worsened drastically and she refused to eat the substitute items I had previously tested out on her. I felt like I was starving her. At exactly two weeks into the diet she suddenly became potty trained (for #2 anyway). She began speaking in longer phrases. At 2.5 weeks she answered the question: What is your name?, for the very first time in her life. She now takes great pleasure from answering that question because of the excited reaction she gets from us. At 3 weeks she demonstrated that she finally knows her colors, an issue I have been struggling with for several months. Her behavior is evening out a bit. She still fights be quite often, but at least I am able to reason with her occasionally now. She has really come out of the fog. She really understands what we say to her for the first time. I have neglected to mention that my daughter has no real diagnosis, Just speech delay/regression. I know that she is autistic but she appears normal to most people that she meets. We are just getting started down the road to getting her the help she needs. Her pediatrician suspects Asperger's but is not trained to make a diagnosis. I am really excited and have hope that she may make a full recovery. > I've just begun my three year old son on a dairy free diet, and I've > seen no significant changes, although he's not had trouble with > aggressive behavior recently (at school).
