Guest guest
Okay, not something serious, but does anyone have any idea why a kid would want to stand on his head all the time? I have one who has been doing this for a couple of years now, which upsets his dad. I figure it's just one of those quirky things kids do, but wondered if anyone had some thoughts. Come to think of it, I haven't seen him do this in about a month now, which is about how long we have been on this diet.. I remember him doing it at his birthday party in mid-March, but I don't remember him doing it since the first of April.... hmm.. Its an inner ear thing and can be addressed with occupational therapy. He no longer does this. It rushes blood to the ears to help with balance. Guest guest
No, but I should start if it helps with sinus. Thanks. Lolita >Does he have stuffy nose/sinus type problems? Guest guest
! It's good to hear from you. You know I've noticed that he is not doing it as much since the diet. We've had some problems with soy (bed wetting, crying for days) and this head standing came back! I hadn't thought of this till your post, THANK YOU! Wow, isn't it weird, these different things that this diet takes care of? By the way, what do you think of adding enzymes to the diet? Do you think these kids not getting nutrients may have to do with a lack of digestive enzymes (on top of all the other possibilities)? I've got Kirby on papaya ( recommended for celiac), and I was just wondering if it might help with my ASD. What's your thought? All is well with you? Sure hope so. Love, Lita >Hi Lolita, > >its your old buddy. Guess what, you are not going to believe this but >my son use to do this all the time and I pondered your same question over >and over. Guest guest
My son does this occasionally, too. I think it is a sensory thing--calming and organizing. Fondly, J--Graham and Hayley's mom
Guest guest
My older son used to do this all the time! It ended when we instituted the GFCF diet, but comes back somewhat when he's eaten something he's sensitive to like ketchup and oranges. Even so, he doesn't do this very much. I believe it's an attempt to regulate their inner ear fluid (I got this answer for a hearing specialist). She said it's as if the world is moving around for them and standing on their heads helps the world stop moving. The diet really has helped in this regard. Hope this helps.
