YES!! I " M YELLING!!

I think EVERYBODY needs to get this book!!

The Complete IEP Guide--How to Advocate for your

Special Ed Child by Attorney Lawrence M. Siegel

The school dist has one voice (even though 10, 15, 20

different people may echo it!!! And we, parents,

have another, and it COUNTS!!! Who knows our child

best?? I have found working with the school dist

takes skill, just like working with our kids!!

Sounding like a broken record helps! Being respectful

is a must, as is being assertive. Being informed is a

must. KNOW the law (this book helps) KNOW that the

school dist does NOT have the final say!! The law has

built in steps for dispute resolution.

This book is essential!! As parents we have ALOT of

rights, and sooner or later we're going to learn

strong advocacy---might as well learn it early on!!

The Table of Contents is pretty clear, so you can go

to what you need. The Appendices include law,

support groups, advocacy orgs, and other, state by

state.....

And no, I don't get any kickback for recommending it

-- though I wish I did!!
