Hello all, I need a little information and I am hoping that you all will be able

to help me out. I had wls because of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). I was

wondering if anyone else out there has had PCOS, had WLS and had any problems

getting pregnant after the surgery. Thanks!

Hey Alison,

I have PCOS and am currently 20 weeks pregnant. I had WLS in July of

last year.. Prior to surgery, I had been on infertility treatments

for 4 years, and had two pregnancies that led to a miscarriage at

about 5 weeks. But, it had been almost 2 years since my last

pregnancy.. so I guess that would be 2 years of unsuccessful

treatments..

Then, after my surgery.. I went back and started the infertility

treatments again.. and got pregnant the 1st month trying.. I still

didn't appear to ovulate on my own, and had to have progesterone

support.. but hey, I am a firm believer that the WLS has made this

pregnancy successful.

Hope that helps!

Trish

I am hoping to become pregnant without fertility treatments. All we can do is

try. It won't be for a while, but I hope that it happens on our own. I just had

my surgery in April of this year and I weighed 223 when I went in and now I am

180. I have not had to have any meds for anything since! I am just trying to

gather some other people's experiences and hope for the best with mine! Thanks!

and CONGRATULATIONS!

Hi Alison

I have pcos and had wls in July 2003. I went through

4 years of infertility treatments without even being

able to produce an egg(dh was tested, he was fine.) I

got pregnant in March and I am currently 15 weeks.

This was a total surprise to dh and I. I am not even

sure that I believe it is happening even though I have

heard the heartbeat twice. It is very possible to

become pregnant w/pcos after wls.

Hi Alison. One thing, I truly believe, that helped me conceive was

yoga. Best wishes!
