Guest guest
Hello all, I have a question for all you experts...my son Graham has been GFCF since middle of January and is doing GREAT! We just had his annual review and everyone was raving about the improvements he has made this semester in socialization, language, etc. That's the good news. Now for the question: the last couple weeks we have been having a lot of loose stools, where he is not quite making it to the toilet. Which do you think is more likely...an inadvertant infringement or a new food sensitivity showing up, such as bananas or corn? His ears turned really red today after eating something with corn in it, then 3 hrs later a major poop accident. I'm thinking of taking out corn, but I'm dreading this big-time. Of course, I will do it if necessary, as we are committed to this diet and all the great improvements we've seen. If you do take out a food, how long does it take to notice the difference? Thanks for your help--I mostly lurk, but I have learned so much from all of you. Fondly, J--mom to Graham (7yrs, probable Asperger's syndrome) and Hayley (11 yrs, mild ADD)
Guest guest
I think your right about the corn and I must say I don't blame you for dreading it... I often wonder myself .. Should I get rid of the corn.. I just try to limit it.. We don't see the accidents or red ears so it might be a problem just not as obvious... Another thing is the corn itself .. Sometimes it is like my son can tolerate it if it is the starch or flour , but not the tortillas ... Does that make any sense to you.>>> So you see I have my own corn problems.. too. kelly In a message dated 5/6/2001 12:36:42 AM Eastern Daylight Time, mjaxon1701@... writes: > ? Guest guest
My daughter can't tolerate tortillas either, or corn, or lots of corn starch--she gets hyper and won't sleep--but seems to do okay with foods where corn syrup or corn starch is a minor ingredient, so we try to limit it too. But I also wonder what improvements we'd see if we got rid of the corn entirely--we've been GFCF for nearly a year with great results...has anyone out there gotten rid of the corn entirely and seen improvements that warrant taking the next step? kc62765@... wrote: > I think your right about the corn and I must say I don't blame you for > dreading it...
