Guest guest
Went for my first OB appointment yesterday and come to find out I have a bladder infection. Well I dont really have any symptoms other than just feeling lousy and I thought that went along with the pregnancy... but anyway, one of my big problems is that I HATE water... I drink too many soft drinks and coffee... anybody know of something other than juice I can drink that will help me kick this?? I need to change habits on what I drink anyway and I started the antibiotic today. Thanks! Guest guest
, I have grown to love any of the sugar free lemonades (Crystal Light, Walmart brand, Aldi's Brand, Kool-Aid, etc., etc., etc.). I also am addicted to the gatorade water Propel grape flavor with TONS of ice. Both of these satisfy my need for flavor without the sugar of soda. I also find that the more I drink, the more I want. Good luck with the UTI. I have battled them along with kidney stones this pregnancy and am SOOOO ready for this whole thing to be over with. (scheduled C-section 5 weeks from today - yippee!!) Take care, Mandi in Concord, NC

Guest guest
You could drink some crystal lite. it is really good and is as good as drinking water. You may need to try a couple different flavors before you find the one you like. God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY Age- 41 EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!! Guest guest
once you start drinking water all the time, that is all you want. I never used to drink anything but Pepsi and now all I want is water and the occasional flavored drink, such as crystal light or iced tea. Guest guest
Thank you for all the info on what I may be able to drink to get rid of this UTI and perhaps keep others from happening. I do have a question about the sugar free drinks though.... dont they contain the aspartame that we are supposed to stay away from?? Is this harmful?? Does the propel water have that in it too?? I am someone that has to drink alot anyway.. I stay thirsty. I just normally drink too much of the wrong stuff. Mandi... so sorry to hear of your urinary tract bouts on this pregnancy and glad you are feeling better. Your time is about up! Congratulations!! Guest guest
, The propel water does not have any aspartame that I am aware of. Some of the drinks are sweetened with aspartame and some are sweetened with Splenda. Each one should have that on the label. The Diet Rite sodas I'm fairly certain are Splenda. The tangerine in that is awesome!!!! Good luck, Mandi
Guest guest
I had chronis UTI's when I was younger(led to surgery on my bladder) and I was told NO carbonation! No tea or acidy juice like orange or pinapple. Cranberry juice is known to help fight UTI's and I would recomend that. Get the unsweetened or no sugar added kind and if that is too sweet for you(if you are a dumper) cut it by half with water. I even saw a low carb cranberry juice at walgreens the other day and tried it and it was good but I cant remember who puts it out. I know you said no juice but cranberry really does help! - Diane > , > The propel water does not have any aspartame that I am aware of. > > Some of the drinks are sweetened with aspartame and some are sweetened with > Splenda. Guest guest
I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to hear of others who experience this as well; I HATE water, too! It is amazing to me now because prior to surgery, I could not get enough water and I always had 80+ ounces per day! It was an overnight change; I had my surgery and amazingly I couldn't stand the taste of water anymore. I have tried so many different brands, using lemon, etc. You name it, I have tried it with no success so far. I have been drinking a lot of Propel so at least I am getting some water on a daily basis; I burnt out on Crystal Light that first few months after surgery and cannot bring myself to drink it now (3.5 years later). I don't like to tell people I don't drink water as most have not been very understanding-- some even harsh with their comments... just like me not eating vegetables! The only one I like is corn... believe me I have tried & tried many, many ways to prepare & eat them with NO success to date and I am 35 years old! Now I keep these " secrets " to myself as I cannot believe how mean some people can be. Or they just don't believe I don't eat any veggies other than corn and they ask what about salad? What about peas? Not even blah, blah, blah??? As you can tell I am a bit sensitive about this. My doctors know and with my first child 10 yrs ago I did drink water but ate no veggies (except corn) and he came out fine (8 lbs, 13 oz). I took my vitamins like I should and I ate as healthy as possible without those " green " foods! haha Well, I just felt like sharing that I guess . Take care everyone and have a good day! Guest guest
Definately don't drink Brown Soda , I get UTI's when i am pregnant alot . try to just drink as much clear liquid you can and eat a yogurt each day it has good bacteria in it that helps prevent infections like that.
