my little guy used to smear his poop when younger, i ended up putting

overalls (pants, not shorts), or snap jeans on him 24 hours a day.

My theory now is that his bottom itched like crazy from a yeast issue

or something, the behavior diminished greatly after starting the

diet, and then completely went away after starting ABA--we can

explain things to him and reason why we shouldn't do that now.

he also used to stand on his head a lot, and everyone but dh made a

game of it, too. It went away on its own. I had never thought of

him doing it at a stressful time, but the only time it resurfaced was

for a few days when he was potty training, and thank goodness only

twice. I say that because he came zipping out of the bathroom with

nothing on his bottom, zoomed over to the big overstuffed chair in

the living room and flipped himself over, and all this just as his

ABA therapist is coming out of his bedroom after finishing up her

paperwork. We couldn't help it, we laughed (nothing like encouraging

him!) and i told her, " Betcha never seen the male anatomy displayed

quite like that before! " " Nope, " was her reply. He tried it one more

time that afternoon, but i caught him in time and he didn't try it

again. Sigh (of relief!) sorry if i offended anyone with this

graphic story, but everyone needs to know someone's " Been there, done

that, " sometimes.
