Guest guest
do you now wear or have worn in the past contact lenses? What your are describing sounds like photophobia. I know through contact lens wear I have developed it at times. Your case sounds extreme though and I would strongly suggest an apt with an opthomologist. Your eyes are precious and taking care of them is important. (hugs) Vivian
Guest guest
Right now I am sitting in front of my computer wearing sunglasses. Much like I must wear whenever I watch television or sit by a window with an open drapery. Light is painful to me. I often joke with others that I should just come out only at night, maybe go so far as to sleep in a coffin during the day. So far no craving for blood, which is good. Sorry for crude sense of humor but I have to joke about those things that bother me most---sort of a coping technique. Truth is, I have great difficulty keeping my eyes open in light. Not only is it difficult to keep my eye lids lifted and see, but I also get a headache within minutes. I usually just keep my gaze down or wear sunglasses. My office has only lamps to light it and my coworkers have agreed to staff meetings with minimal lights to accomodate me. This is very helpful until I go out into the real world where humans live that need light. Then I am out of my element and can't function. Does anyone else struggle with this and what do you do? Do you where dark glasses? Are there any that don't look like they are obviously dark? I always feel like people are looking at me wondering what I am hiding when I where dark glasses. I get tired of explaining them. Maybe the light problem is unique to me, I don't know. This is all new to me.
Guest guest
Sensitivity to light sounds like porphyria (vampirism LOL) - some of us have been checked for it. Guest guest
I have noted an increasing sensitivity to light over the last two years as my other symptoms have also become more prominent. It's not so severe as you describe, but the pain is certainly increasing. > > Right now I am sitting in front of my computer wearing sunglasses.
