Guest guest
Oh my gosh , what a nightmare!!! Is Christain okay now (aside from the fact he won't sleep in his own bed)? I would be pissed! I know things happen in situations like these, but couldn't they be more careful? Geez! Well, I think the best way to go about this is to slowly ease him into his own bed as if he were an infant again. Maybe start with naps. Unfortunately you may have to let him CIO a little. If you truly want him out of your bed, you have to develop some 'tough love'. I know, I know, easier said then done. Maybe try the ole Ferber Method. I'm sorry I can't recommend something better, but I have never experienced this situation. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out. Guest guest
Sometimes you do what you have to though. Glad to hear he's doing well enough to sleep alone again. You'll get there again. Have you tried sitting at his bedside not really interacting with him at bedtime. I had to do this once with . You gradually move out of the room a few feet each night until they are used to being without you again. I would stay for about 15-30 minutes. Good luck. Pam and (8-12-01) > Christian got sick. Guest guest
Oh, I am sooooo mad about what they did to him. He is definitely feeling much better though (THANK GOODNESS!). I do have to get myself a backbone again and deal with this situation. Re: what a dilemma I got myself into Oh my gosh , what a nightmare!!! Guest guest
Ugh, my heart goes out to you. Geez if it's not one thing it's another. I'm glad he's at least feeling better. If he ever has to go under again tell them about the issue he had before and ask them to use a smaller tube. Aidan was intibated with a tube to big and developed Stridor. Next time he went under we made sure to let the anathesialogist know what happened last time and asked him to use a smaller intibation tube. How old is Christian again??? Guest guest
Hi , Christian is 15 months old. Thank you for the info...I wouldn't have even thought about asking for a smaller tube next time. How is Aidan doing? Re: what a dilemma I got myself into Ugh, my heart goes out to you. Geez if it's not one thing it's another. I'm glad he's at least feeling better. Guest guest
I was watching Super Nanny and she did some great things with keeping kids in their own beds. I'm not sure if he can get out of his bed by himself, but one trick she had was. Put him in his crib to go to sleep. You sit next to the bed, on the floor, indian style (so he can see you) but do not talk to him or make eye contact (regardless of how he carries on). If he can get out of bed and come to you, just gently pick him up let him know it's time to go to bed and lie him back down. You then go sit back down again avoiding eye contact and don't speak to him. Basically I think you're letting him know that he's alright and once he figures out your not going to constantly support his crying and carrying on they get bored and go to sleep it's amazing. Though I'm not saying it will be easy, this mother was in tears as was I for her. Anyway, she went from 2 hours trying to get him down to 20 minutes IN HIS OWN BED... Just a thought, best of luck to ya. Gerace cgerace@...> wrote: Hi , Christian is 15 months old. Thank you for the info...I wouldn't have even thought about asking for a smaller tube next time.
