Guest guest
I was talking to our pediatrician about going to Shriners and she told me that you have to be sponsered by a Shriner. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks, Anne
Guest guest
Yes, every patient who is seen at a Shriner's hospital has a Shriner sponsor. You don't have to track one down on your own though, the hospital can assign you one--usually someone from your area. I was worried about this too when we started the application process, but it's no big deal at all. By the way, Jonah's sponsor is a very sweet man, the director of a local funeral home. The hospital lets him know when we have appointments scheduled and he calls us to see if we need anything. He and the local Shrine club reimburse us for gas (which at $2.65+ per gallon on a 600 mile round-trip gets pricey). In fact, I'm working on a story for our local free rag about him and Jonah. Hope this helps. Let us know how the plans to see Dr Dobbs are going. Guest guest
I think that used to be the case, but I don't think it is any longer. We just called the Shriner's Hospital and got an application. We have always driven ourself, but we were told that they can assist in transporting you if necessary.
