Before I begin I would like to know what you will be using and how much-how long? We weren't very successful with oregano capsules since my son refused to take them after only one week. I went the traditional route and tried a Flagyl generic because it was 'dye free' but after 5 days (out of a prescribed 10 days) he had a severe reaction-facial swelling and loss of motor coordination, both scary. So we stopped immediately. I just purchased ParaGone for Kids made by Renew-Life which I planned to begin after my son's body calms down from the last drug. This is a 15 day on-5days off-15 days on routine that may have to be repeated. Before I begin I am interested in what you'll be using, please share. Thank you. Sharon, OOPS- Sorry! I hit send accidentally before I was finished. Anyway, he's on a compounded version of Iodoquinol 210mg/5ml. The dose is 5ml 3 times per day for 20 days. Previously, we did a 10 day course of flagyl, that was obviously not effective. In my nurse's drug guide, it says that iodoquinol is a " Direct-acting (contact) amebicide effective ...in the intestinal lumen. Range of antiprotozoal action includes trichimonas vaginalis and balantidium coli; also has some antibacterial and antifungal properties. " I guess the b. hominus is also in that antiprotozoal range, and it should help with the never-ending yeast battle, too. It also says that after using the medication, you should test stools across 3 different days to be sure the infection is gone. Since I just picked this up today, Brett hasn't started it yet. I'll keep you posted on his progress. Good luck to your little one- Sue
