Guest guest
I've had my son on the yeast-free, sugar-free diet for over a year now. He's had no sugar and only minimal pear juice and no other fruits. We recently had him tested for yeast and he's still a 3+. I can't put him through this when it's not even helping. I'm not going to give him any sugar but I'm going to start giving him as much fruit as he wants as long as he's not sensitive to it and give him yeast breads. What's the point in going yeast-free if it hasn't helped after a year. I don't think we'll be able to take care of the yeast until after we do chelation so I don't see the point in having such a limited diet anymore. Has the diet helped anyone get rid of yeast? We've done the anti-fungal and although it helped a lot, it was very short-lived. We give 2 Culturelle and 2 Pro-Culture Gold a day but he's stalled out and I really believe it's the gut bugs. Anyone else had it with the yeast-free diet? Jo (South Carolina)

I can always tell when Gillian's yeast is flaring up, she chows the bread!! Also, there are other " hidden " things to aviod when doing a yeast free diet. (it's always something *grin*) EX, yeast itself, certian oils (sunflower especially), nuts & mushrooms (mold issues), the skins of fruits and veggies, etc. I know it's a pain... Good luck deciding for you and your family what is best. If you'd like more yeast info, feel free to e me kweav@... >> Thanks for the advice, it's very much appreciated. My son is on the most restricted diet possible, that's what makes we so mad. He doesn't even get any types of bread at all, only Safflower oil, no fruits, and no veggies. My son only eats a GF/CF pancake with pear butter, meat, and potatoes. That's it! I'm through fighting this fight that I can't win and I'm going to let my son enjoy his fruit and not worry about it anymore. Thanks again for trying to help! Others may want to try this though if you are >looking for a decent yeast free bread, Some of the last labels we printed said Vegetable Oil. We are currently in the process of finishing the art work for our new preprinted bag and wanted to cover our bases in case we were presented with a supply problem. However, the response to the change has been a definite NO. We will be changing the labels back to read Sunflower Oil effective immediately and the printed bags will also indicate this. We currently only use Sunflower oil and have been using nothing else for more than 2 years. ---------------------------------------------- Jay Bigam Marketing and Information Technology Manager Kinnikinnick Foods Inc. www.kinnikinnick.com Toll Free: 1-
