Guest guest
I recently began magnesium from Kirkmans and my son is having a harder time going to bed at night and waking up more frequently. I give it in the evening because I thought it helped with sleeping somehow. Also I thought it was supposed to help with the bowel but he seems to be having a harder time going. Any suggestions? Guest guest
, I have the same problem. I started out with giving her one capsule saw no change so I increased it to 1 1/2 and then she had a couple days of diarrea. So I took her off it completely and she had her first full night of sleep in a long time. It was only one night though. She is back to waking up two or three times again. I wish I could help you. Guest guest
just had an inquiry about the magnesium, My son is on the Adeks and I was looking at the list of vitamins, at the bottom it says that there is magnesium stearate, How does this one differ from the ones mentioned in the joint pain/manesium post? Guest guest
Hi, Magnesium stearate is a food-grade magnesium that is commonly used in meds and cosmetics (and even in the plastics industry). It gives some texture and consistency to meds and cosmetics; it's one of the things that helps make-up and lotions adhere to your skin. It has a lubricant effect too. It's like when you butter and flour a cake pan before pouring in the batter so the cooked cake pops out without sticking. Sometimes that's what Mg stearate is used for -- prevents pills from sticking to the pill molds during manufacturing. If you dig through your medicine cabinet and read the labels of your cosmetics and shampoos, you'll see it listed. In meds and supplements, the amount is so teeny there's no way you can count it as adequate dietary supplementation.
