Guest guest
Kathy I'm sorry you had such a scary experience. First of all, you can ask for the resident on call when your doctor isn't in. They may not be familiar with you, but they can call the doc if need be. The hand and foot coldness is not all that unusual, especially if you have dysautonomia. Where they blue or red? It could also be caused by low blood pressure and I'm sure other things. Do you still have the leg pain? If so, I think it should be checked out without waiting to get ahold of the doc. It could be something unconnected to mito, such as a blood clot. I had to have this done in the ER one night. It turned out that I didn't have a blood clot and it was never determined exactly what it was, but a blood clot was ruled out. Good luck, laurie > HI EVERYONE I HAVE HAD A BAD 24 HRS. Guest guest
I do not have any suggestions except that you are not alone. A couple of weeks ago I had the worst calf muscle cramp I have ever had. It woke me up--I could not get it to go away. My husband who was in another room came over and rubbed it for 10 minutes before I stopped screaming in pain. That was a week ago and it is still sore somewhat. I often get the cold feet but not the hands. I take off my socks if I have them on since it seems to keep the cold in. Then I wrap them in a warm soft fleece blanket I have. Lastly I put a heating pad on top of that. It still takes over an hour to warm them up but it helps. Janet Sample coldhands and feet HI EVERYONE I HAVE HAD A BAD 24 HRS. Guest guest
I also get the cold hands and feet. I call it a cold attack. I almost always keep socks on, even to sleep. if I get really cold I need a hot bath or heating pad on my feet. I also go to U of M. Last time I called with a specific question on a problem no one ever called me back after it was relayed to the Dr. in West Michigan Janet Sample thesamples@...> wrote: I do not have any suggestions except that you are not alone. Guest guest
I have had this problem and the leg cramps for years. My Neurologist says part of the problem with my feet could be due to me having severe periphal neuropathy in both legs, the right is much worse? My right leg is the one with the MD like condition and my walking is greatly impaired. I have had a really bad time of it this year and that is part of the reason why I have just read no written, plus my e-mail has been messing up more often than not. I suffered with " major gastro " problems starting Jan first then I was in such a weakened condition that I took four falls, two bad from which I received a hairline skull fractrue from one and one seizure at 11:30 at night and I live alone. All of this forced me to make another " life altering decision " and I will be moving to Aldersgate Village here in Topeka (it is part of the United Methodist Churches, Inc) and I will be going into an independent living setting where I will have 24 hour medical care if I need it, Sorry to be so long winded but I thought since my e-mail was working I would chime in. Thanks, Dolores Okerlund susanmito@...> wrote: I also get the cold hands and feet. I call it a cold attack. Guest guest
Dolores Thanks for the update. We all worry when we haven't heard from people. I'm sorry you had to go through such a rough time, but it sounds like you made some good decisions. I hope your move goes smoothly. Laurie > I have had this problem and the leg cramps for years.
