Hi everyone,

Not sure if anyone remembers me or not. I kind of have neglected

posting in months due to all the problems I had been having with my

pregnancy and the rest of my life in general. I did try to keep up

to speed with everyone else's pregnancies and am sorry if I have not

congratulated anyone on their new arrivals.

To refresh everyone, back in March I had what was supposed to be a

routine ultrasound. Dr's found an abnormality with my placenta, what

looked like 1/3 of it seperated from the uterine wall. I was

promptly admitted for observation. The entire hospital was on my

case, trying to figure out what that was that they were seeing. Dr

almost decided to have me deliver ceaseran at if I remember

correctly 29 weeks. Instead, they decided I would need NST's twice a

week, ultrasound once a week. A month later at one of my weekly

ultrasounds, they were becoming concerned with the fact that the

baby was so small. She was only in the 9th percentile for

gestational age. My dr sent me for an amniocentesis that same day to

see if we could possibly set me up for induction that day!! I was

only like 33 weeks at that point!! Well, her lungs were not

developed enough, so he decides to continue with NST's twice a week

and now ultrasounds twice a week. So, I was spending most of my life

at the hospital for testing for like 10 weeks before I delivered.

They did schedule me for induction on May 27th, pending the outcome

of another amniocentesis. I had that in the morning, the dr called

and said that he wanted to wait 2 more weeks.

So finally, June 9th, at 10PM I was induced. It really was not bad

at all. Once I got to the point that I could not take the

contractions any longer, I asked for my epidural. That was at like

5:30am on June 10th. At 8:30am my dr broke my water. I was still

only at 3 centimeters. He came back at around 12:30pm to check

things, I was still only at 4cm at that point. I figured at this

pace, it wouldn't be until 10pm that night that I would deliver

her!! He came back at 2:30pm to see how I was progressing, and he

was surprised to find out that her head was right there!! I

couldn't feel a thing, I was completely numb from the waste down.

After maybe 15 minutes of pushing, she finally arrived. Gianna

Carmella was born June 10th, 2004 at 3:15pm. She weighed in at 5lb

8oz and 18inches long. She is a tiny little girl, but she really is

strong. My OB was very happy with my delivery, in could not have

gone smoother, he said we should do this again!! LOL She had no

problems, just that she was tiny and a little bit jaundice. All the

monitoring was worth it to finally see that she is completely fine.

I can never thank my dr enough for how wonderful he has been. I

actually missing seeing him all the time!!

I posted a picture of my little angel. Take a look. For at least the

next month, I might actually have some time to respond to some of

the posts. I go back to work August 2nd. Not that I am not

busy....all you moms know what I mean!!

Love to all,
