,

I'm at the store now, so I took some measurements on the See Kai Run Shoes.

The Marek sandal (fisherman style sandal with a closed toe) in a size 4 is

nearly 5 inches long (insole measurement) and nearly 2.5 inches wide at the

widest part of the forefoot and just over 2 inches at the midfoot. The Jack

shoe (more of a traditional walking shoe) in the same size is barely narrower in

the toes and wider in the midfoot.

By comparison, Jonah's Elefanten fisherman sandals--also in a 4--are not quite 2

inches at the toes and 1.75 inches at the midfoot. His Kai Runs are a size 3.

The See Kai Run seem to be excessively wide, I don't know if the designer has a

child with really wide feet or what. I'd say they are an xx-wide without

necessarily trying to be. They are certainly some of the softest, most flexible

soled shoes I've seen. Jonah's are wearing very well, I had to give them a good

scrubbing last night because he was playing in mud puddles and they are none the

worse for it.

Good luck!

In the Striderite I have to buy the XX Wide.. Do you think in the See Kai Run

shoes I would need the xx wide? or just wide?

Thanks for all the info everyone!

wanted to respond to this because I just got Darbi's See Kai Run green

Janes and these things are HUGE! They are way, way, way too wide for her

feet. My problem... they're green mary janes and I just had to have

them. But if you're looking for wide shoes with a soft sole, you will find

what you want with the See Kai Run line. They're too wide for a normal

foot and I almost didn't buy them. I can't understand why they're made so

wide, so many feet will not be able to wear them. She absolutely cannot

wear their sandals, her feet just slide right out the front and over the

edge. Even in the too small size. I was very disappointed in this because

I really wanted those sandals. But for wide clubfeet... they're perfect

and they have a VERY flexible and soft sole.

I don't have the link to their website but I bet if you search See Kai Run

you'll find it. Very cute, very flexible, very wide shoes.
