Guest guest
I have no problems with food and swallowing pills so when I take the baby asprin it is with food(usually instant oatmeal for breakfast)and at least 2-3 oz of water. That way it is not just sitting in the pouch doing any damage and goes down with the food. My nutritionist said this would be OK and so far I have had no issues with it at all. As for the folic acid I am prescribed Folgard which has 2 mg( it also has extra B 12 and even though we are not suposed to be able to absorb it that way I do and all my blood work is in normal ranges for B vitamins) and I take that twice a day along with a prenatal which has 1 mg in it also. I will take those wheather I am pregnant of not. My progesterone seems to be good through this pregnancy although I had issues with it until after WLS, so I'm glad my body is becoming somewhat more normal because of WLS. I had never even heard of the MTHFR before I started seeing this high risk doctor but with my suspicous family history and past miscarriages they testeed me for it and I'm glad they did. This has the potiential to do so much health harm and is very easily counteracted with proper care. Good Luck with your routien - I hope all goes well with your pregnancy- you still have quite a ways to go , it seems like last week I was reading other people who were over 20 weeks and it seemed like I would never get there. Well I am in the home stretch now and cant wait to hold my first baby - Diane RNY 7/14/03 270/181(now 194)/130 EDD 9/14/04 > Thanks for your reply. It is nice to hear from someone in a similiar situation. I haven't been taking the baby aspirin since surgery, but I think I will start tonight! I am taking two 800 mcg of folic acid, one prenatal vitamin, and two children's chewables. I am also on the Lovenox and Progesterone twice a day. > > > wls 8-18-03 > 330/197.5 > edc 2-5-05 > > >
